Eagle Ridge Academy Appoints Paul Long as Interim Board Member

MINNEAPOLIS (December 27, 2010) Eagle Ridge Academy in Eden Prairie, MN has name Paul Long to the Eagle Ridge Academy Board.
"We were blessed to have so many qualified candidates from which to choose," said Pete Larson, Eagle Ridge Academy Board chairman. "After discussing each candidate, their qualifications, and both the short-term and long-term needs of the school, the Board voted to appoint Paul Long to fill the open seat until our annual meeting in June."
The seat which Long will fill was vacated in September, 2010. Long will serve the remainder of the 2010-2011 school year, at which time the seat will be open for election. "I am pleased to serve the Eagle Ridge community for the reminder of this term, and will plan to run for a long-term board position in the spring," said Long.
There are a several board seats up for election in the spring of 2011. The school is also considering expanding the number of seats on the board due to the increasing size of the school, the number of qualified board candidates, and the work to be done for the growing school.
Long is president and owner of the re:member group. "His experience in contracts, human resources, project management, finance and overall small-business management will serve the board well," continued Larson. Long will work with the rest of the board to execute policy and direction that serves the already-established Mission, Vision and Pillars of Eagle Ridge Academy.

ERA was the first public charter school in the southwest suburban area specifically dedicated to ofering a demanding college-preparatory, classical, liberal arts cirriculum. ERA opened in September 2004 with 108 students in grades 6, 7 and 9, expanding by one grade per year, until 2009 when 280 students were served in grades 6-12 and graduated the first class of seniors in June, 2008.
ERA obtained approval in the summer of 2010 to add Kindergarten through grade 5 for the school year 2010-2011.
